DESCRIPTION

Internorm windows and entrance doors were specified for one of the UK’s largest residential Passivhaus projects to date – Willmott Dixon’s Chester Balmore

The specification of Internorm’s systems has been key to helping the project achieve Passivhaus standard – the fabric first approach to low energy buildings.
The £10 million project, located in the Highgate area of the London borough of Camden.

Energy efficiency was at the heart of this scheme, which resulted in the development being built to Passivhaus standard, where energy demands are reduced by up to 90% thanks to the utilisation of existing energy along with superior insulation of the building fabric and exceptional air tightness.

DESCRIPTION

The Royal Arsenal Hotel is a high end Premier Inn in the heart of south east London. The building was constructed using individually manufactured pods on a room by room basis.

As the project was on a main road and site conditions were tight supplying, storing and installing products would have been almost impossible. This is why the main contractor on the project Berkley Group elected for an offsite pod built system.

The project also had some strict specification guidelines to adhere to, this lead the pod manufacturer Element Europe to appoint Internorm UK as their window manufacturer of choice. Using the KF410 studio with its certified sound reduction capabilities and G values the client was able to offer a glazing package that adhered to the strict specification required.

Refurbishment of two tower blocks consisting of 244 residential apartments.

DESCRIPTION

The two tower blocks were originally built in 1965 and in 2010 the buildings qualified for complete external refurbishment. The building also qualified for a complete overhaul of its heating system, exchanging the original space heater solution within each flat with a biomass district heating system which controlled the internal temperature for the whole project. Replacing the dated glazed solution with Internorm’s triple glazed KF200 UPVC Aluminium windows and doors, coupled with the Biomass heat system reduced energy consumption by 66% on average.
The average saving per property per annum is £800, reducing heating bills from £1200 to £400 per annum and lowering the buildings carbon footprint to 960 tons per annum.

Travelodge Hotel, London

DESCRIPTION

The former coach houses formed the frontage to Whitechapel High Street and The Boars Head, which stood on the site in Shakespeare’s time.

Internorm UK were commissioned by Cristofoli International to supply, manufacture and deliver their KF410 Studio windows for the 395 bedroom BREEAM ‘excellent’ hotel. Other Manufacturers were approached to tender the prestigious build, unfortunately they could not meet the strict criteria for the sound reduction required on the project. The factory finished solution also went hand in hand with the rapid build requirements on the project with strict deadlines to be upheld.
